Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is an American actor and TV host. She has a large following throughout America and across the world because of her character as leading actress on the TV series 'The Closer.' Sedgwick was inclined towards acting, art as well as Broadway when she was just 12 years old. Her introduction to Broadway through her mother who was a Broadway lover. Sedgwick was barely 16 when she made her first professional role on the show 'Another World. She had a desire to be a renowned actress, not small television part that attracted Sedgwick initially. Her debut big screen performance was in the movie "Born on the Fourth of July,' in which she starred alongside Tom Cruise. Sedgwick continued to get roles as she was a success with this movie.
