Rochon Born at Torrance (a suburb of Los Angeles), is the daughter of Zelma Staples. Her parents are Samuel Staples a graphic designer and businessman. Cerritos High School in Cerritos California is where Rochon finished her high school education in 1982. Rochon received a degree in broadcasting journalism at California State University Dominguez Heights (CSUDH) in 1986. Her majors were sociology, theatre, and theater. In 2016, Rochon returned to CSUDH to be the main speaker for the ceremony to celebrate the start of the College of Arts and Humanities

Ullerup appeared as Julia Brynn for the first time in Battlestar Galactica: The Remake which aired in 2006 Sci Fi Channel. Fans were enraged by her departure, and many would like to see her back in future seasons. It ended 2012, but not before an intense controversy. Ullerup made an appearance on Chesapeake Shores as Bree O'Brien. Ullerup played Maggie Thomas, the estranged wife to Michael Thomas, in the catastrophe film Asteroid: Final Impact (2015). Ullerup's regular role in Hallmark's Signed, Sealed, Delivered series has been Dale Travers since 2016.
